50th Anniversary Bash

What an amazing night!  Although a lot of the attention was surrounding our night time rail competition, the night was really about having locals and those that love The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort celebrate our 50 year anniversary.  It was perfect.  The celebration started around 5 when our lifts finally stopped after an extended day.  First up was local band American Cream.  These guys rock.  They jammed and covered a great range of contemporary and classic rock songs.  Next up was local Las Vegas DJ Deejay.  He got things going with some great sounds to get everyone pumped up for the comp.

About 20 locals entered the rail competition.  And it was great to have this event for them.  Local companies as well as well as some larger brands all contributed to prizes and gifts for the competitors.

1st Place Prizes: 1 Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Season Pass 2013/14; 1 Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon Zip Pass; 1 Vegas Indoor Skydiving Pass, and 1 Powder n Sun sponsored Snowboard.

Before the final round of the competition the mountain stopped to see something that I've never personally witnessed before, a torchlight parade.  Both skiers and snowboarders joined in and in the dark they headed up Chair 1.  Lead by our very own Marcel the skiers and riders lined up with torches and single file rode down Keno so everyone at the Main Lodge could see this wonderful sight and what a great moment to witness Marcel leading it.

What a great time.  Here's to the next 50 years.
